第四纪是地质学研究中最重要的时期之一,一直受到学术界的热切关注。本文对中国北方更新世主要动物群进行了整理和回顾,结合前人的划分框架,将中国北方更新世哺乳动物群划分为5个阶段,即NCMP(中国北方第四纪哺乳动物群)1—5。该划分结合了部分最新的研究成果,尤其是近年来关于大连骆驼山金远洞的发掘和研究工作。早更新世被划分为3个阶段,该划分方式相比邱占祥此前的NCMQ划分更加精细,与哺乳动物群成分的演变更为吻合。NCMP1的动物群成员通常包含一些原始类群; NCMP2的成员普遍稍显进步,但仍与现代类群具有相当大的差异; NCMP3的类群更加进步,但仍保留早更新世的大体特征; NCMP4和NCMP5的动物群已逐渐向现代动物发展。本文还对一些重要的大哺乳动物类群进行了讨论,其中一些类群的演化具有重要的年代学意义。
Abstract:The Quaternary is one of the most important periods in geological research and has consistently attracted intense interest from the academic community. In this study, we collated and reviewed the major Pleistocene faunas of northern China and, building upon previous classification frameworks, divided the Pleistocene mammalian faunas of northern China into five stages, designated NCMP(North China Mammal Pleistocene) 1–5. This subdivision incorporates several most recent research findings, in particular the excavations and studies conducted in recent years at Jinyuan Cave, Luotuo(Camel) Hill, Dalian. The Early Pleistocene could be subdivided into three stages. In contrast with Qiu Zhangxiang's NCMQ(North China Mammal Quaternary) subdivision, a finer resolution that accords more closely with the evolutionary changes observed in composition of the mammalian faunas. The members of the NCMP1 faunal assemblage include typically some primitive groups; those of NCMP2 are generally slightly more advanced but still differ significantly from modern taxa; those of NCMP3 are even more advanced yet retain the overall characteristics of the Early Pleistocene; and those of NCMP4–5 have gradually evolved toward modern animals. We also discussed several important large-mammal taxa, the evolution of those that bear significant chronological implications.
